Veridos strengthens verification portfolio through acquisition of E-Seek

Berlin, March 28, 2018 – Veridos acquires E-Seek, an American company based in San Diego, California, that specializes in ID card verification technology. This acquisition strengthens Veridos’s authentication portfolio and its presence in the North American market. The merger agreement was signed March 9, becoming effective March 27, 2018.
  • San Diego-based E-Seek specializes in ID card verification devices
  • E-Seek’s product range perfectly complements Veridos’s software expertise
  • This acquisition strengthens Veridos’s presence in the North American market

Veridos benefits from E-Seek’s advanced authentication products for government-issued driver’s licenses and ID cards. E-Seek’s reading devices contain patented image capturing technology. This ensures quick and accurate capture of security features and personal data contained on the card or in card’s barcode.

“The need for fast and reliable verification of ID documents is increasing with the steadily rising numbers of travelers. Driver’s licenses are often used as identification in North America, and E-Seek’s devices improve the authentication process at airports especially for such documents”, explains Veridos CEO Hans Wolfgang Kunz. He continues: “This acquisition brings together complementary products. E-Seek’s hardware expertise and Veridos’s proven software capabilities enable us to offer state-of-the-art ID card authentication solutions. The resulting synergies allows us to offer our customers an even broader portfolio of identity solutions.”

Ali Lebaschi, co-founder of E-Seek in 1999 and its future managing director, comments: “We are delighted to become part of Veridos and to be able to enhance the portfolio with our expertise. Just as one example, our M500 ID Card Authenticator simultaneously captures images from both sides of an ID card or other document in a single step. Together we can better serve our customers’ needs for greater efficiency.”
